Biogas production from corn-stock treated by organosolv process

Corn-stock contains lignocellulosic compounds, a thermal process of organosolv hydrolysis is required, using acetic acid, to obtain carbohydrates of hemicellulose, necessary for anaerobic digestion at 35°C in an continuous stirred-tank reactor model CSTR. An inoculum used is outlet anaerobic digester sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plant "El Ahogado", an acclimatization process with K2HPO4, NaHCO3, (NH4)3PO4 for 3 days and K2HPO4, saccharose and metanol for 6 day, was used. Corn-stock liquor substrate was adjusted the pH at 7. Fermentation period was 22 days, with an initial COD of 60x103 mg / l and a degradable matter consumption final COD of 3.8x103 mg / l. Biogas production average is 100 ml CH4 d-1/1000 l corn-stock liquor.
